IT Project Quality Review


Client Profile:

A supplier of automotive components for commercial vehicle and industrial markets with $3+ billion in revenue, 9,000+ employees, and locations worldwide.

Client Challenge:

A multi-year, multi-million dollar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system implementation required a project readiness review prior to launching. This launch would be done simultaneously across all of their global locations, underscoring the need for due diligence in preparation.

Management brought in Herndonwood to manage the resolution of the gaps because they understood the need to supplement existing staff, obtain missing skills, act quickly, and create structure around the process.

Approach & Solution:

Herndonwood consultants worked on behalf of the client’s Internal Audit department to perform an assessment of the current state of their project to implement the PLM system. The review focused on five defined areas: Testing, Support, Information Security, End User Readiness, and Implementation Planning.

Herndonwood performed an assessment for Internal Audit identifying areas of risk, calling out observations and providing recommendations. The Steering Committee leveraged Herndonwood’s report to mitigate identified launch risks, assist in the go-live decision and implement improvements for future projects.
